About Give Me Your Heart Backstreet Boys Fan Club
This is our flag. We take it everywhere we go and It represents us as a Fan Club.
"Give Me Your Heart Backstreet Boys" is an independent Fan Club from La Plata
city, Argentina. We do not belong to any other.
Give Me Your Heart Backstreet Boys Fan
Club was born in
June, 1997 when nobody knew about BSB in Argentina and a group of friends joined
together to share the illusion and the dream to meet the Backstreet Boys someday. But as
time went by, the number of friends increased rapidly. That is why we decided to create
what is known today as "Give Me Your Heart Backstreet Boys" Fan Club from La Plata city. It is not easy, but nevertheless we
are struggling to achieve our goals.
Since this Fan Club was created we have done seven
campaigns to help poor people, giving them food, clothes and toys, of which we are very
proud because we have obtained satisfying results. We are planning to do more charity work
during this year.
We succeeded in being the biggest fan club in La
Plata and nearby as there are 940 members, who day after day get interested in the growth
of Give Me Your Heart Backstreet Boys Fan Club and the activities we carry out. Besides,
GMYH Backstreet Boys have members not only in
Argentina ( Entre Ríos, Tucumán, Florencio
Varela, Lincoln, José C. Paz, Córdoba, Gran Bourg, Colón, Misiones, Quequén, Chubut,
Santa Fe, Villa Ballester, Capital Federal, Barracas, Morón, Los Cardos, Valentín
Alsina, Resistencia, Mar del Plata, Gutierrez, Ramos Mejía, La Plata, Ensenada, Berisso,
Merlo, Quilmes, Los Polvorines, Monte Grande, Mendoza and Tierra del Fuego ) but also in
other countries such as Spain, Mexico, Canada, USA, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Costa Rica,
Panamá, Perú, Puerto Rico, Bolivia,Colombia, Paraguay and Ecuador.
We do a monthly meeting with the members who live
near La Plata city. We tell them the latest news about BSB, we listen to rare songs or any
interview, we practice their coreographies, we make contests and games and we give stuff
to the members. For those members who can´t go to the meetings we keep in contact via
e-mail or via letters.
We also do a monthly magazine with interesting
stuff for the members: pics, interviews, news, and the members write poems or any
experience they want to share with the others members
We also have our first branch in Bahía Blanca
city, Argentina, of which we are really happy because they trust us to do it.
February 15th, 1998 was one of our best days as we
decided to organize the trip to a TV programme called "La Movida del verano" in
which BSB did their first live show in Argentina. We were 70 people who had never had the
chance to have the Backstreet Boys so near and it was an incredible experience for us as a
fan club.
June 6th, 1998 was our First Anniversary. We
celebrated it with a BIG party which was a really BACKSTREET BOYS PARTY: music, a big
screen with videos never seen before, contest, and lot of fun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We also celebrate the birthdays of all of them
because although they are far away from us they are always in our hearts, specially in
those dates so important for them.
For a while we were really worried about the health
of one of the Backstreet Boys: Brian, who had a heart operation. That is why we decided to
take a blue (because this is his favourite colour) bracelet and pray for him as a way to
be with him in that difficult moment of his life.
Besides, we are lucky to be supported from the
birth of GMYH Backstreet Boys by one of the most important radio stations of La Plata city
called FM 99.1 ( FM Diez )
specially by one of its radio speakers: Gabriel Piñeiro who is the godfather of our Fan
Club.
Thanks to their help in all our undertakings by
cooperating from the radio giving a special report of the Backstreet Boys called "Los Chicos Súper Del
Pop" we are known in La Plata city as well as in other cities.
We work actively to be known and respected as a Fan
Club. We appeared in the magazines "Fan Club", "Chicas", "TV y
novelas" among others. We were invited to the TV show "Televisión Abierta"
and we were interviewed by the newspapers "El Día" (01/15/1999) and
"Hoy" (03/21/1999) both from La Plata. We also took part in the first exhibition
of the different Fan Clubs in Argentina (10/03/1999 - 10/04/1999)
All the work I mentioned above give us strength to
keep on working. Everything we gain is by own merit and we are really proud of it.
